Entourage setup instructions for POP. Please note, the MAF Helpdesk does not support Entourage.

  1. Go to Tools on the top menu bar and select Accounts.

  2. On the Accounts screen, click the New button. Select "Mail" from the drop down menu.




  3. On the New Account screen, select POP from the drop down menu, then click OK.



    You may see a different window than the one pictured above. If this is the case, click "Configure account manually" to reach this window.

  4. On the Edit Account screen, type in the following information:

    • Account name: whatever you wish to call this account (for example: "PACTec email").
    • Type your name and email address in the appropriate fields.
    • Account ID: your user name
    • POP server: pactec.net
    • Password: your password. You can choose to save the password by checking the box next to "Save password in my Mac OS keychain".
    • SMTP server: pactec.net


  5. Click Click here for advanced receiving options.



    Place checkmark beside This POP service requires a secure connection (SSL) and Override default POP port:
    Make sure the port number says 995.

    You must also turn on SSL encryption for outgoing mail. You can do this by clicking on the other Click here for advanced sending options...



    Place a checkmark next to the following options:

    SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL)

    - Override default SMTP port - type in 465

    - SMTP server requires authentication; select "Use same settings as receiving mail server".


  6. Click the Options tab. If you wish to check your mail from more than one location (i.e., using WebMail from school), select Leave a copy of each message on the server.

  7. Click OK. Your PACTec email is now configured.
